Committee to Vote Again on PD&R Nominee
The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs will vote on the nomination of Katherine O’Regan to be Assistant Secretary of HUD’s Office of Policy Development and Research on February 6. The markup will be at 10am in room 538 of the Dirksen Senate office building.
The Committee already approved Dr. O’Regan’s nomination by voice vote on October 29 (see Memo, 11/1/13), but the nomination was not taken up by the full Senate by year’s end. In a departure from usual practice, all nominations that were not completed by the end of 2013 are being sent back to committee for another vote. Dr. O’Regan’s nomination is expected to be non-controversial.
Dr. O’Regan is currently a Professor of Public Policy and Planning, and Director of the Public and Nonprofit Management and Analysis Program at the Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, New York University. Dr. O’Regan holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and spent ten years teaching at the Yale School of Management prior to joining the Wagner faculty in 2000.
