The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) will host a briefing, “Life without Housing Counseling: Top Researchers Discuss Effectiveness of Housing Counseling Programs” on June 21. The briefing is in response to the elimination of funding for HUD’s housing counseling assistance program in FY11 (see Memo, 4/22). Speakers at the briefing will include Chris Herbert of the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, Peter Tatian of the Urban Institute, Max Schmeiser of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and Barb Stucki of the National Council on Aging.
The briefing will be held at 10 am in room HVC-215 of the Capitol Visitors Center.
