Expanded education on early voting provides an opportunity to boost turnout during a midterm election. Currently, 33 states allow some type of early voting, either in person or through vote-by-mail programs. In 2012, more than 32 million votes were cast before Election Day.

Voter registration is coming to a close in many states.
