Full Report on Worst Case Housing Needs Expected in April

HUD is now expected to release the full version of its Worst Case Housing Needs 2011 Report to Congress in April. HUD issued an executive summary of this report on February 22 (see Memo, 2/22), which found a 19% increase in the nation’s worst case housing needs between 2009 and 2011. Households are defined as having “worst case housing needs” if they are very low income renters and pay more than half of their incomes for rent, or live in severely inadequate housing.Click here to view the NLIHC press release on the executive summary.
