The House Financial Services Subcommittee on Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity will hold a February 1 hearing, “Implementation of the Manufactured Housing Improvement Act of 2010.”

The Manufactured Housing Improvement Act of 2010 created a consensus committee to advise the HUD Secretary on federal manufactured housing construction and safety standards, and on procedural and enforcement regulations related to manufactured housing. The Act also made revisions to manufactured home installation laws and encouraged the government sponsored enterprises to develop and implement secondary market securitization programs for manufactured home loans, among other provisions.
The Subcommittee held a November 29 field hearing (see Memo, 12/2/11) on manufactured housing issues in Danville, VA. The February 1 hearing will be at 10 am in room 2128 of the Rayburn House office building.
