The House of Representatives is expected to move forward with its FY15 appropriations work immediately after returning from recess on April 28. During the mark-up of the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies appropriations bill, the House Appropriations Committee is also expected to mark up its FY15 302(b) allocations, which will establish top line spending amounts for each subcommittee.
Prior to the Congressional recess, the House marked up two of its spending bills, even before 302(b) subcommittee allocations were issued (see Memo, 4/11). The two bills that the House marked up, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies bill and the Legislative Branch bill, received “interim” 302(b) allocations. The House is expected to consider these two bills on the floor the week of April 28.
The Senate Appropriations Committee is also expected to move quickly to set its 302(b) subcommittee allocations after returning from recess.
