The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs will hold a Committee mark-up of the “Housing Finance Reform and Taxpayer Protection Act,” commonly referred to as the Johnson-Crapo bill, on April 29. The mark-up will be held at 10 am in room 538 of the Dirksen Senate office building. The bill offers comprehensive housing finance reform legislation
The Johnson-Crapo discussion draft was released on March 16 (see Memo, 3/14). Initial reports were that the Committee leaders wanted to mark-up the bill before their two-week spring recess, which begins April 14. However, several Senators have requested more time to study the draft and confer with stakeholders.
