The NLIHC Board of Directors met in a day-long session on Saturday, March 26. Among the business the board conducted was annual board elections. Brenda Clement, Lisa Hasegawa, Linda Leaks were elected to their second three year terms. New members elected to their first three year terms were:
- David Bowers, Vice President and Market Impact Leader, Enterprise Community Partners, Washington, DC in a national partner position;
- Lot Diaz, Vice President for Community Development, National Council of La Raza, Washington, DC in a national partner position;
- Daisy Franklin, Vice President, Public Housing Resident Network (CT), Norwalk, CT, in a low income representative position; and
- Martha Weatherspoon, President, Lincoln Home Resident Council, Clarksville, TN in a low income representative position.
Officers elected for a one year term are: George Moses, Chair; Donald Chamberlain, 1st Vice Chair; Mark Allison,2nd Vice Chair; Greg Payne, Secretary; Moises Loza, Treasurer; and Leonard Williams and Lisa Hasegawa, at-large Executive Committee members.
The board bid farewell and thank you to Nancy Bernstine, rotating off after nine years on the board; DeDe Carney, who has served for six years; and Diane Randall, who left at the end of her first term as she changed jobs and no longer works on housing issues.
Nancy and DeDe were recognized for their service at the NLIHC Annual Meeting on March 28 at the conference. The results of the election were announced to the NLIHC membership at that time.
