The Coalition on Human Needs (CHN) and its partners will host a series of webinars on the current state of the federal budget and appropriations process.
The series will begin on June 7, when CHN and the Community Action Partnership will present “A Webinar for the Budget Perplexed” to explain how Congress and the Administration’s decisions regarding deficit reduction may threaten safety net programs.
Joan Entmacher of the National Women's Law Center, Deborah Weinstein, Executive Director of the Coalition on Human Needs, and others will discuss “the unprecedented seriousness of the threats and show the impact of the most prominent plans to cut, cap, and restrict the federal role in meeting human needs.”

On June 8, NLIHC will present a follow-up webinar that expands on the state of budget and appropriations for affordable housing programs. The webinar will update participants on the current state of HUD and USDA Rural Housing appropriations, dangers to affordable housing in FY12 and future budget cycles and efforts to make affordable housing relevant in the broad dialogue on deficit reduction.
