President Nominates Leonard Wolfson to be HUD Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations

President Donald Trump nominated Leonard Wolfson to be HUD assistant secretary for congressional and intergovernmental relations, sending the nomination to the Senate on October 25. Mr. Wolfson has served as associate vice president of legislative affairs for the Mortgage Bankers Association. He previously served as HUD general deputy assistant secretary for congressional and intergovernmental relations during the George W. Bush administration. During that time, he led HUD’s legislative efforts to modernize the Federal Housing Administration as part of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. Mr. Wolfson’s career began in 1996 on the staff of his hometown congressional representative, Christopher Shays.
