The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs held a hearing on September 22 to consider the nomination of David Montoya as HUD’s next inspector general. The inspector general is responsible for promoting efficiency and effectiveness in the department’s programs and operations.
Most recently, Mr. Montoya was executive special agent in charge in the U.S. Postal Service’s Office of Inspector General. He testified about his more than two decades of public service and law enforcement experience. He also emphasized the importance of collaborating with HUD leadership, program managers, and state and local offices to “promote the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of HUD programs and operations.”
