USICH Releases New PHA Guidebook for Ending Homelessness

The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) released a new guidebook for public housing agencies (PHAs) on November 14. The guidebook provides examples of best practices for PHAs collaborating with community partners “to plan how their resources can be used strategically to best support and align with efforts to prevent and end homelessness.”

USICH Executive Director Barbara Poppe said the guidebook is “an online set of tools that covers such topics as preferences, admissions policies, project-based vouchers, and participation in Continuum of Care planning efforts. We hope this can help communities everywhere to join with public housing agencies to mobilize their resources and make the case for new resources.”
