At a June 17 Congressional briefing, homeless or formerly homeless youth will discuss their experiences overcoming the challenges presented by homelessness, poverty, and foster care. The briefing will highlight federal, state, and community resources that enabled the presenters to complete their educations and live healthy lifestyles. “Voices of Youth” is sponsored by Senators Patty Murray (D-WA) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and the Congressional Homelessness Caucus.
Youth participating in the discussion are from Florida, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Montana, New York, Virginia, and Washington.
The event will take place on June 17 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am in room 485 of the Russell Senate office building. Registration is not required for this public event.
