Committee Clears O’Regan for HUD PD&R

On October 29, the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs approved by voice vote President Obama’s nomination of Dr. Katherine O’Regan to be HUD’s Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research. Next, the full Senate must confirm Dr. O’Regan for this position; a date has not been scheduled for this vote.The Committee held a hearing on Dr. O’Regan’s nomination on September 10 with discussion focusing on data collection and the use of data to affirmatively further fair housing. Dr. O’Regan is currently a Professor of Public Policy and Planning, and Director of the Public and Nonprofit Management and Analysis Program at the Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, New York University (see Memo, 9/13).
