Attorney General Jeff Sessions and HUD Secretary Ben Carson announced on April 12 a nationwide initiative aimed at increasing awareness and reporting of sexual harassment in housing. HUD and the Department of Justice will form a new interagency task force, create an outreach toolkit, and launch a public awareness campaign. These efforts are a national extension of an initiative Mr. Sessions ordered last October to combat sexual harassment in housing with pilot programs in D.C. and the Western District of Virginia. The pilot programs generated an increase in harassment reporting and resulted in legal relief for 15 victims, according to Mr. Sessions.
