Advocates Urged to Weigh In on Tax Reform

Senate Committee on Finance Chair Max Baucus (D-MT) and House Committee on Ways and Means Chair Dave Camp (R-MI) are urging advocates and members of the public to share ideas for tax reform with the Committees. To facilitate the conversation, the two Chairs have established a website, www.taxreform.gov. Members of the public are also encouraged to tweet their tax reform ideas to @simplertaxes. NLIHC and the United for Homes Campaign urge advocates to provide feedback in support of the United for Homes proposal to fund the National Housing Trust Fund through a modification of the mortgage interest deduction. There is no formal deadline for feedback, but the Chairs have indicated that they plan to advance a tax reform package in 2013.
