H.R. 1213 Gains Co-Sponsors

Two additional Members of the House of Representatives have co-sponsored H.R. 1213, the Common Sense Housing Investment Act of 2013. They are Representatives Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Jan Schakowsky (D-IL). Representative Lee was an original co-sponsor of the bills to establish the National Housing Trust in the 107th and 108th Congress. H.R. 1213 would modify the mortgage interest deduction and use the revenue raised to fund affordable rental housing, including the NHTF. The bill is sponsored by Representative Keith Ellison (D-MN) and is endorsed by the United for Homes Campaign.Advocates are urged to ask their Representatives to co-sponsor H.R. 1213.
