Building Futures: Creating More Family Supportive Housing in New York City

This 2012 report explores the financing options, development barriers and overall challenges associated with family supportive housing development in New York City. It summarizes the key issues addressed at a series of policy forums held in 2011 by the Network, Enterprise Community Partners and the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH). "Building Futures" offers a number of solutions to the current dearth of family supportive housing in New York City and follows a 2012 announcement from New York City that it intends to double its annual supportive housing production from 500 to 1,000 units. The policy solutions outlined in this paper represent practical steps to help jump-start the development of family supportive housing across New York City.
