Cleveland City Council Passes Resolution in Support of United for Homes and H.R. 1213

On May 16, the Cleveland City Council passed a resolution in support of the United for Homes campaign, and urged its congressional delegation to co-sponsor H.R. 1213, the Common Sense Housing Investment Act of 2013. A copy of the resolution will be sent to Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Rob Portman (R-OH) as well as Representatives Marcia Fudge (D-OH) and Marcy Kaptur (D-OH). The Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless was instrumental in getting the resolution passed and is working to see a similar resolution passed by the Cuyahoga County Council. The United for Homes campaign encourages supporters to contact state and local legislators about the introduction of resolutions or to recruit them as official endorsers of the campaign. A sample resolution as well as an elected official endorsement form can be found on the United for Homes website.    Read the Cleveland City Council’s resolution at: http://bit.ly/15eZqzH View the sample resolution at: http://bit.ly/15HKVWP Download an endorsement form for elected officials at: http://bit.ly/Z5FONH
