Join NLIHC and Our Homes, Our Votes: 2020 partners on Tuesday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. ET (1 p.m. CT/ 12 p.m. MT/ 11 a.m. PT) for a tweetstorm urging the debate moderators to ask about affordable housing!

During the November 20 debate in Atlanta, GA, NBC News White House Correspondent Kristen Welker, asked: “Millions of Americans are finding that housing has become unaffordable. . . . Why are you the best person to fix this problem?” Three candidates - Tom Steyer, Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker – responded!

On December 19, seven candidates will take the stage for the sixth Democratic presidential debate in Los Angeles. Most of the candidates participating in the debate have released plans or proposals to address the nation’s growing housing affordability crisis. Join the #OurHomesOurVotes2020 tweetstorm at 2:00 p.m. ET on December 17 to encourage the candidates to discuss their affordable housing plans and to urge the debate moderators to ask a question on affordable housing during the nationally televised event.

NLIHC sent a letter—signed by over 1,000 organizations—to the PBS and Politico debate moderators calling for them to ask a question on one of the most pressing issues facing millions of voters – the growing lack of affordable homes. Read more here – and reference the letter in your tweets during the tweetstorm!
