The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), which coordinates the state’s disaster recovery housing efforts, released a State of Florida Action Plan for Disaster Recovery for the distribution of $616 million in Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds. The resources come from the first disaster supplemental appropriation Congress passed in September, 2017. As required by HUD guidance posted in the Federal Register in February, the draft of the state action plan is open for public comment through May 4, 2018. The document is available in English and Spanish. The Florida DEO will need to release another state action plan for the additional $707 million Congress appropriated in February.
