Introducing NLIHC's Newest Advocacy Tool, "Voices Heard" – Amplify Your Voice Today!
May 09, 2025
Voices Heard is a new tool from the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC). The platform gives advocates the power to speak directly to the people who shape housing policy, our elected officials. Homelessness and housing instability impacts millions of people across the country, and NLIHC is committed to connecting those voices with policymakers to advocate for real change. Advancing housing justice means that legislative decisions reflect the people they represent.
Now more than ever, your voice can make an impact.
Need Help Getting Started?
You don’t have to be a professional speaker or writer. Just be yourself and speak your truth. Below are a few prompts to assist in crafting your message:
- Why is stable housing important to me? My family? My neighbors?
- How has access to stable, affordable housing positively impacted my life?
- What does my community struggle with because it doesn’t have enough affordable housing?
- What challenges have I faced trying to find affordable housing?
- How has the rising cost of rent impacted my ability to pay for other necessities, like groceries, transportation, childcare, and medical care?
- Why should my elected officials make affordable, accessible housing a priority?
