The Connection

Join Tuesday’s (June 10) National HoUSed Campaign Call for Universal, Stable, Affordable Housing!

Jun 06, 2025

Join Tuesday’s (June 10) national HoUSed campaign call from 4 – 5 pm ET. The call will feature a discussion of the rights of Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) recipients, as the EHV program, which provides temporary rental assistance to over 60,000 housing-insecure or otherwise vulnerable individuals, is threatened during the ongoing debates about Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 funding legislation.

National Housing Law Project’s Deputy Director Deborah Thrope and Senior Staff Attorney Parisa Ijadi-Maghsoodi will introduce a legal memo on the rights of Emergency Housing Voucher recipients as the program faces uncertainty during ongoing federal funding fights. We will also be joined by National Health Care for the Homeless Council’s Senior Policy Manager Laura Brennan for an overview of how the recent House reconciliation bill (H.R. 1), which would cut roughly $716 billion in Medicaid funding, will impact health care coverage for people experiencing homelessness. Andrea Steward, policy advocate for Maine Equal Justice, will share about the on the ground work of advocates in Maine to protect renters’ rights and housing affordability. We will also highlight resources, provide the latest updates from Capitol Hill, and more.
