Our Homes, Our Votes Mini-Grant Application Cycle Now Closed!

Nov 24, 2025

By Tia Turner, NLIHC Project Manager, Our Homes, Our Votes

Applications for Our Homes, Our Votes first-ever mini-grant program are now officially closed. We are excited to share that we received more than 80 applications from organizations across the country committed to expanding civic engagement among low-income renters and people experiencing homelessness. The volume and quality of submissions underscore the growing momentum behind nonpartisan voter engagement efforts in the housing and homelessness field.

Grant recipients will be announced on December 12.

The Our Homes, Our Votes mini-grant program was created to strengthen our field’s capacity to engage more low-income voters in the election process. Selected organizations will receive up to $1,500 to support nonpartisan voter engagement activities, including voter registration, voter education, get-out-the-vote efforts, and community-based civic mobilization strategies ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. These grants are intended to empower local partners to deepen their outreach and ensure that the voices of renters and unhoused individuals are heard in our democracy.
