June’s “Tenant Talk Live” featured tenant leader and organizer Bel Galvan of the Coalition for Tenant Justice in San Antonio, TX. Bel shared insights from organizing multiple tenant unions and described how they came together to protect Section 9 housing from demolition and conversion under the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD). She also highlighted the Coalition’s broader work, including connecting renters to legal aid, conducting homeless outreach, and advancing state and local advocacy efforts. Attendees also engaged in a broader discussion of Section 9 during the Q&A.
