Tenant Talk Live Meeting (8/4): This month’s “Tenant Talk Live” featured NLIHC’s Senior Director of Policy Kim Johnson. Kim provided an in-depth overview of the federal appropriations process and updates on the federal budget. 

NLIHC Co-hosted Webinar on Immigration and Disaster Recovery (8/12): NLIHC, PIF, Just Solutions, NILC, and Texas Appleseed hosted a webinar on immigration issues and disaster recovery, entitled “Immigration & Disaster Recovery: Rights, Access, and Where We Go From Here.” 

Tenant Talk Live Meeting (9/8): This month’s “Tenant Talk Live” featured NLIHC Research Analyst Nada Hussein who presented NLIHC’s advocacy for tenant protections at the state and local level.   

HoUSed Call (9/9): On September 9, NLIHC hosted a HoUSed campaign national call discussing how the Trump administration’s recent executive orders and the federalization of the local police force in D.C. are impacting people experiencing homelessness in the nation’s capital. 

Training Institute for Tenants and Residents (9/23): Thursday, September 25, NLIHC kicked off the second half of its Training Institute for Tenants and Residents (TITR) session with a webinar on Disaster Recovery 101. This webinar provided tenants, residents, and advocates with foundational knowledge of the U.S. disaster recovery system, its shortcomings, and how communities can organize for resilience and reform.  

Congressional Black Caucus 54th Annual Legislative Conference (9/24-9/26): NLIHC joined the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) 54th annual legislative conference by hosting an exhibitor space on the importance of advancing housing justice. The NLIHC team shared data, resources, and advocacy tools with attendees of the conference.
