Now Available – Tenant Talk: Securing the Tenant Vote

Oct 19, 2026

By Sidney Betancourt, NLIHC Manager, Inclusive Community Engagement

On October 15, 2026, NLIHC released Tenant Talk: Securing the Tenant Vote, which provides resources renters can use to help educate, mobilize, and strengthen marginalized voices at the ballot box.

This fall issue highlights why voting matters, provides overviews of pivotal voting rights cases, and information on mail-in ballots and voter access. It also includes stories of how communities created quality spaces for young leaders to thrive, along with key resources voters can use to navigate the 2026 midterm and general elections. Alongside these articles are resources from NLIHC’s policy and research teams, including information about the “21st Century ROAD to Housing Act” and the recently published 2025 National Renter Survey report.

This issue, NLIHC’s nonpartisan Our Homes, Our Votes campaign, and the collective action of advocates in the affordable housing space can create a stronger country where everyone, including low-income renters, participates in the democratic process.

Let’s get out the vote!
