Community Behavioral Health Rental Assistance (CBRA)
The Community Behavioral Health Rental Assistance (CBRA) program provides a long-term rental subsidy for high-risk individuals and households with behavioral health conditions. When combined with programs offering long-term supportive services provided by our partners, highly vulnerable persons with complex behavioral health needs have opportunities to live independently in communities of their choice. Program partners include the Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) at the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) and the Aging and Long-Term Supports Administration (ALTSA) at the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS).
Persons with mental illness; Eligible for a long-term support services program and have a documented need for long-term housing subsidy with no other resource that can meet this need
Currently or recently discharging from state/community psychiatric facilities
Required for income (general), lease, proof of behavioral health condition, approval for long-term support program. Self-attestation permitted for income (general).
Program covers rent above 30% of tenants' adjusted income, up to payment standard based on local Fair Market Rent
