New York State's Real Property Tax Credit is available to New York State residents who have household gross income of $18,000 or less, and pay real property taxes or rent for their residences, or both. Renters are eligible if they (or a member of the renter's household) paid rent for your residence, occupied the rental for six months or more, and the average monthly rent was $450 or less, not counting charges for heat, gas, electricity, furnishings, or board. In 2022, the credit maximum as $75 if all members of the household were under age 65, and $375 if one member of the household was age 65 or older.
