The Campaign for Housing and Community Development Funding (CHCDF) sent a letter on April 23 urging congressional leadership to include resources for affordable housing and community development programs in the next coronavirus emergency response package. Although the previous package, the CARES Act, provided $12 billion in housing and homelessness resources, additional resources are needed to address the immediate needs facing people experiencing homelessness and low-income renters. The letter calls for emergency rental assistance, funding to help people experiencing homelessness, resources for HUD- and USDA-funded housing providers, and other assistance for fair housing enforcement and housing counseling.
