“Tenant Talk Live” on Preventing Evictions in Immigrant Communities (10/6): NLIHC hosted a discussion on tenant-built advocacy efforts to help combat evictions in immigrant communities.

NLIHC Tenant Leader Retreat (10/10-13): Members of the third and fourth cohorts of NLIHC’s Collective congregated in Albany, Georgia for NLIHC’s bi-annual Tenant Leader Retreat. Thirteen alumni members of the Collective’s third cohort and nine current Collective cohort members participated in the retreat and were able to build deep bonds while learning about leadership, advocacy, and mobilization strategies. 
 

HoUSed Campaign National Call (10/14): On October 14, NLIHC hosted its HoUSed Campaign National Call to discuss the upcoming FY2025 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), threats to fair housing programs and enforcement, and the current government shutdown.

Joint Webinar on the National Housing Preservation Database (10/15): On October 15, NLIHC and the Public and Affordable Housing Research Corporation (PAHRC) hosted a joint webinar on the National Housing Preservation Database (NHPD).

Relaunch of State and Local Tenant Protections Network (10/23): NLIHC hosted the relaunch of its State and Local Tenant Protections Network with a conversation about NLIHC’s National Housing Preservation Database (NHPD). 
 

HoUSed Campaign Call (10/28): On October 28, NLIHC hosted its HoUSed Campaign National Call to discuss how the federal government shutdown is impacting domestic violence and healthcare programs, as well as the resources people need to ensure that they remain stably housed.  

Training Institute for Tenants & Residents Webinar – Civic Engagement 101: The Power of Advocacy and Voting Rights (10/30): NLIHC hosted a Training Institute for Tenants & Residents webinar on “Civic Engagement 101: The Power of Advocacy and Voting Rights.” This session provided practical insights for advocates, tenants, and community leaders on how they can use civic engagement as a tool for lasting change.
