NLIHC is pleased to welcome Galiba Anjum as the Fall 2026 Communications Intern.
Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Galiba recently graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Computer Science and Information Science and is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering in Computer Science. While her academic background is technical, Galiba has spent much of her time at Cornell exploring how research, design, and communications can come together to make information more accessible and useful to the communities they are intended to serve. Through the Susan Christopherson Center for Community Planning in Ithaca, New York, she has assisted with developing and designing websites, outreach materials, and public-facing policy resources for individuals in upstate New York and beyond.
Her interest in housing is shaped in part by growing up in a low-income community and seeing how access to stable housing and the resources associated with them can shape the lives of individuals, families, and the communities they reside in. Having worked on the Local Food Purchase Assistance program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and within cooperative housing efforts in Ithaca, she is excited to continue exploring how policies can be used to better understand and support communities through communications at NLIHC.
