San Antonio Housing Trust
San Antonio, Texas

The primary purposes and goals of this Trust are to provide additional and continuing housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income families; to promote the public health, safety, convenience, and welfare by mitigating the extent to which San Antonio’s low- and moderate-income households are unable to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing within the City of San Antonio; and to revitalize neighborhood and downtown through appropriate housing activities. The San Antonio Housing Trust (SAHT) provides works through a variety of tools to create and preserve housing that is affordable, accessible, sustainable, and attainable. Specifically, we provide grants and low interest loans along with utilization of tax-exempt bonds, property tax/sales tax exemptions, and other creative financing mechanisms in partnership with various housing non-profits and for-profit housing providers to meet the programmatic vision set forth in our five-year strategic plan.
