Every year, NLIHC hosts Capitol Hill Day, which gives advocates the chance to meet with their members of Congress and urge them to oppose funding cuts to affordable housing and homelessness programs, expand resources for these vital programs, advance anti-racist policies, and support legislation that would improve the lives of millions of low-income people. This year, NLIHC’s hybrid Hill Day will take place on Thursday, March 23. In preparation, NLIHC is hosting a webinar on February 28 to overview our policy priorities for advocates participating in Hill Day. Advocates can register to attend the February 28 webinar here. Capitol Hill Day is part of NLIHC’s Housing Policy Forum 2023: Onward to Housing Justice, which will take place on March 21-23 at the Hilton Capitol Hill Hotel in Washington, D.C. The February 28 webinar will be held from 4 to 5 pm ET and will cover a range of our policy priorities while also explaining what to expect when meeting with members of Congress during Hill Day meetings. Staff from Housing Narrative Lab will join this year’s webinar to share how advocates can incorporate their own stories and experiences into their advocacy to create powerful narratives that make the case for federal resources for affordable housing and homelessness programs.
