Register for New Webinar Series on ERASE Cohort Member Successes!

NLIHC is pleased to announce a new End Rental Arrears to Stop Evictions (ERASE) webinar series! The series will highlight the successes of 2022-2023 ERASE cohort members in supporting local tenant organizing, passing and enforcing tenant protections, and increasing funding for emergency rental assistance (ERA) programs. The three-part series will provide state and local partners and community stakeholders with information about the various tenant protections pursued by cohort members and the successful advocacy strategies used to increase tenant rights and housing stability. The webinars will be held from 3 to 4:15 pm ET on June 29, July 27, and August 24.

The 2022-2023 ERASE Cohort is a select group of state and local nonprofit partners that are conducting on-the-ground partnership development, capacity building, outreach and education, policy reform, and systems change work to ensure that the gains made in setting up systems to provide emergency assistance and prevent evictions are sustained.

Each of the three webinars will focus on members’ unique efforts to enact and enforce tenant protections or extend emergency rental assistance, highlighting various strategies used to accomplish their initiatives.

“Local Tenant Organizing Efforts to Increase Housing Stability”

Attendees will learn about 2022-2023 ERASE Cohort members’ efforts to pass and enforce local tenant protections that correct the power imbalance between landlords and tenants. Specifically, attendees will hear from tenant-led organizations and community partners about their efforts to educate, train, and organize members to advocate for solutions to issues impacting their living conditions and housing stability. Presenters will discuss organizing methods to lower rent caps and create landlord registries and efforts to form tenant unions to address habitability concerns.
